Helpful recipe site

Here are a couple recipe site I use to help me come up with recipes
http://allrecipes.com/ -- this one is good because a lot of everyday people past. there are a lot of easy recipes.
http://www.epicurious.com/ -- this one is my favorite because the recipes are more elegant -- more difficult and I enjoy cooking like that. also do not let the name of the recipes scare you.

if people have other sites they use that they really like, let me know. there are a ton on the web.

Emergency Substitutions

Alcohol Alternatives

1/4 C or more red wine = equal measure of cranberry juice, apple cider, chicken, beef, vegetable broth, clam juice, or nonalcoholic wine, or half the amount of flavored vinegar (if you used the nonalcoholic wine, add 1 T vinegar to cut sweetness
1/4 c or more white wine = equal measure of chicken broth, vegetable broth, clam juice, or nonalcoholic wine. (If you use nonalcolic wine, add 1 T vinegar to cut sweetness)
1/4 c or more port, sweet sherry, rum brandy, or fruit-flavored liqueur = equal measure of orange juice or apple juice plus 1 t of corresponding flavored extract or vanilla extract
2 T sherry = 1 -2 t vanilla extract, or 2 T orange or pineapple juice
2 T bourbon = 1 - 2 t vanilla extract
2 T amaretto = 1/4 - 1/2 t almond extract
2 T rum or brandy = 1/2 -1 t rum or brandy extract, or 2 T water, white grape juice, or apple juice
2 T Grand Marnier = 2 T orange juice + 1/2 t orange extract
